Medallic – pertaining to medals. In this situation, it pertains to the position of the obverse to reverse dies in striking coins. In the medallic position, both the obverse and reverse dies are orientated to the relative north position or 000°. Mostly all British and British colonies (former or still a colony) use the medallic die positioning to strike coins.In the coin strike position, which is used by the United States, the dies are opposed or have a rotation of 180° from each other.
