Experimental Rinse for Sacagawea Dollars

Definition: In an attempt to prevent tarnishing, small numbers of Sacagawea dollars were immersed in a chemical bath that turned them a distinctive brown color.  The experiment was quickly abandoned.

The 2000-P Sacagawea dollar pictured below was exposed to an experimental anti-tarnishing agent.
